Postmaster General DeJoy and Chairman Duncan of the USPS Board of Governors Testified Before the House Oversight Committee Today

Last Friday, Postermaster General Louis DeJoy testified before the Senate Homeland Security and Governmental Affairs Committee regarding the United States Postal Service (USPS) operations and the upcoming election. This morning DeJoy, along with the USPS Board of Governors Chairman Robert M. Duncan, testified before the House Committee on Oversight and Reform.

Appeals Court Rejects Trump’s Appeal of House Oversight Committee’s Subpoena of his Financial Records

On October 11, 2019 a federal appeals court rejected Trump’s appeal of the House Oversight Committee’s subpoena for his financial records. Although this is a win for Americans who value transparency in government, I fear that this is an issue that will not be resolved with this decision. We have to remember that throughout the end of President Obama’s second term in office, Republicans vehemently stone-walled even the idea of Obama nominating a new Supreme Court Justice to fill the place of the late Justice Scalia.
